Leeds United starlet Sam Byram is in action for the club's Under-21 side today, having been named in the starting eleven to take on Nottingham Forest.

Byram has so far not signed a new contract at Elland Road, something which has left head coach Steve Evans reluctant to field him in the senior team.

And to keep the defender match sharp, Evans has chosen to make Byram available for Under-21 duty.

He is not the only senior team player to be in Under-21 action this afternoon, with striking pair Lee Erwin and Souleymane Doukara also starting against Forest.

Leeds also name several promising youngsters in their side, who will be hoping to catch Evans' eye and knock on the door for a first team spot.

Young full-back Lewie Coyle is handed a start, while Frank Mulhern also gets the vote to play.

Young striker Luke Parkin meanwhile, along with forward Robbie McDaid, is on the bench.
