A poor relationship between Kia Joorabchian and West Ham United has scuppered any chance the Hammers have of signing Alexandre Pato, it has been claimed.

Pato's agents, of which Joorabchian is one, are currently in London for talks with Tottenham Hotspur over their client moving to White Hart Lane.

The Brazilian striker, who has scored 26 goals this year, had been linked with West Ham. But according to Yahoo! Brasil, the dire relationship between the Hammers and Joorabchian means the option of heading to Upton Park has been dismissed by Pato's camp.

Joorabchian had dealings with West Ham in the 2000s when he took both Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez to the club.

As a result of the poor relationship between Joorabchian and West Ham, there is little prospect of Pato making a similar journey.

West Ham suffered a 4-1 defeat away at Tottenham Hotspur yesterday and Mauricio Pochettino's men could be set to become stronger still through the signing of Pato.

The Brazilian has though also been linked with Barcelona and until he puts pen to paper speculation will no doubt continue over where the former AC Milan striker will end up.
