Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed that striking pair Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are fit for his side's Champions League encounter against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday at Old Trafford.

Both Martial and Rooney missed the Red Devils' 2-1 win away at Watford on Saturday, something which forced Van Gaal to play Memphis Depay in attack.

The duo, along with midfielder Marouane Fellaini, are now available, but Van Gaal remains without five first team players.

He told MUTV: "We have five injured players – you know Luke Shaw, then the next one was Antonio Valencia, he was operated on weeks ago and after the international break it was Michael Carrick.

"The last match it was Ander Herrera and Phil Jones. They cannot play. The other players are available", he added.
