Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has declared that his side are targeting winning their Champions League group, ahead of their meeting with Juventus tomorrow.

The Citizens, who were thumped 4-1 by Liverpool at the weekend, are currently atop Group D of the tournament with nine points from four games, just one ahead of the Italian champions.

Manchester City have managed to win two Premier League titles in four seasons, but have struggled on the European front.

And Toure insisted that it is his side’s aim to go as far as possible in the Champions League this season.

“I don’t know what will happen in Turin”, the Ivorian told his club’s official site.

“For us, the target is to finish first and get a kind draw in the Round of 16 and then continue onwards because it’s a target to get as far as we can in this competition.”

Manchester City, who lost 2-1 to Juventus in the corresponding fixture in September, will win their Champions League group if they come out victorious against the Bianconeri in Italy.

After tomorrow’s encounter, Manuel Pellegrini’s men will face Southampton in a Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
