Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has declared that his side will provide a real fight to Juventus tonight, with the Italian champions aiming to win Group D of the Champions League.

Although Manchester City are currently atop the group with nine points from four games, just one ahead of Juventus, the Bianconeri are favourites to win the encounter in Turin, having already defeated the Premier League outfit 2-1 in the corresponding fixture at the Etihad Stadium in September.

The Citizens, who are a force to reckon with on the domestic front, have however struggled for consistency in Europe; the Manchester outfit have failed to move beyond the Round of 16 of the Champions League.

And Pellegrini admitted that Manchester City are in for a tough encounter at the Juventus Stadium, but the Chilean was quick to add that his side are prepared to give their all against last season’s beaten finalists.

“Many people have criticised us in the Champions League and it is important that we have an achievement – we did this in qualifying [for the knockout stage] for three years”, he told UEFA’s official site.

“The most difficult thing is the quality of the players that Juventus have. They have a very strong squad, which is why they reached the final last year.

“We will find a team who want to qualify in first position in the group, but they will find a Manchester City who will fight and give them a game.”
