Leeds United appear to have a deal for Sunderland midfielder Liam Bridcutt done after the player arrived at their Thorp Arch training base this morning.

Whites boss Steve Evans has been chasing the midfielder for several weeks and, on the day the emergency loan window is due to slam shut, looks to have got his man, beating off competition from Cardiff City and Reading.

It emerged last night that Evans had met with Bridcutt at Thorp Arch to convince him to join Leeds on loan and the two shook hands on a deal.

And there is further confirmation this morning as, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the midfielder has arrived at Thorp Arch this morning.

Bridcutt is now likely to put the finishing touches to his loan switch, with Evans eyeing slotting him straight into the Leeds squad for Saturday's game against QPR.

The exact details of the loan remain to be seen, but it could be a prelude to a permanent deal with Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce having admitted he wants to sell Bridcutt.

The Chelsea youth product is firmly out of favour at the Stadium of Light and has not played a single senior minute of football for Sunderland this season.
