Celtic boss Ronny Deila has blasted a "stupid question" after his side crashed out of the Europa League tonight by losing 2-1 at home to Ajax.

Deila had seen his men take the lead after just three minutes on home turf after a superb run and shot from Callum McGregor.

But Ajax were quickly level, striking in the 22nd minute through Arkadiusz Milik, who hooked the ball into the goal from close range following a Craig Gordon save.

Both sides knew only victory would do and each threw men forward as the clock ticked down, but it was Ajax who got the break.

The Dutch side broke in the 88th minute and Vaclav Cerny saw his effort beat Gordon at the near post, killing off Celtic and keeping Ajax alive. Now the Bhoys just have a dead rubber against Fenerbahce in Turkey as their final group game.

Deila is under pressure, but he insists there is still much to play for.

Asked where the club and Deila personally go from here, the Norwegian said on BT Sport: "Where do we go? We go forward, all the time forward.

"So that's a very stupid question.

"We have a lot to fight for domestically and we have to play one more game in Europe; we will do everything we can to get some points there.

"Then we will do everything to show the fans and everybody out there that we want to be a good European club."

Deila also vowed to keep fighting and says questions over his position and the club's progress in Europe are repetitive; he further claimed that the club's struggles are making him angry.

"We went through last time. We were playing Inter Milan and it was very close.

"Again, the Champions League campaign was not good. This year we were good up to the last game against Malmo.

"We are closer and next year we're going to be there.

"That's what I'm going to say. You ask me every day the same questions and I'm going to do this job. This makes me so unbelievably angry.

"But one day will come and it will be next season."
