PEC Zwolle skipper Bram van Polen has revealed that only a dream move to Manchester United could convince him to leave the IJsseldelta Stadion before the end of his career.

The 30-year-old right-back has been with the Eredivisie side since 2007 and over the years has established himself as a major player for the Blauwvingers.

He has made 281 appearances for the club and is currently their captain, which shows the importance of his presence in the Zwolle dressing room.

Van Polen has never played outside the Netherlands, but has been a major figure in the Eredivisie for close to a decade and he revealed Manchester United remain his dream move, even as he heads into his 30s.

He admits that unless the Red Devils come calling, which seems unlikely, he expects to end his career with Zwolle at the IJsseldelta Stadion.

Speaking to Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad, Van Polen said: “Before I extended my contract last winter, I realised that it was the last opportunity to go on an adventure.

“But I am good at PEC, and if Manchester United do not come [for me], it is almost certain that I will end my career here.”

Van Polen also revealed that he is happy young players are looking to step out of the Netherlands to improve, but insisted that he has done the same with Zwolle.

“Players are working on the next step, they want to make a career and there is nothing wrong in it.

“I have been lucky that I have been able to do it at PEC.”
