Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta is ready to perform any role he is offered in order to help his team win matches.

The Spaniard has been used in the right-back position on a number of occasions this season, contrary to the left-back role he has been seen operating in over recent years.

Being a naturally right sided full-back, the new adjustments will be welcome for the 26-year-old, though he insists that he will be ready to perform any kind of role that his manager needs him to play in order to help the team.

Reflecting on his last season's role, Azpilicueta told his club's official website: "I think at this stage last season I hadn’t played so many games on the right but my goal and my target is always the same – to help the team.

"I feel comfortable in both positions so I’m ready for the manager when he wants me to play."

Speaking about their upcoming fixture against Tottenham this weekend, the full-back said that his team are confident going into the match in spite of last season's 5-3 loss in the league.

The win in the League Cup final against the same opponents though will be an added incentive as they look to extend their winning run and thus keep climbing up the league tale.

"In the Premier League we played a tough game there and it was a hard defeat to take but we played them in the League Cup final after that and won, so every game is different.

"We are confident, we have to keep going and try to get the three points."
