Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits that defence has been the best part of his team’s game this season.

The Red Devils have come under pressure for some of their listless attacking game and Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against PSV Eindhoven has again brought back all the criticism of their football.

It was Manchester United’s 12th clean sheet of the season, but it was also their fifth 0-0 stalemate of the campaign and concerns have been raised about their play in the final third for weeks.

Van Gaal has revealed that he is not overtly concerned about their attacking football as he believes that they are still creating the chances and it is only their finishing that requires work.

The Dutchman said in a press conference this morning: "If we weren't creating chances I'd be worried, but we are and we don't give too much away – normally our results are good."

However, Van Gaal admits that their defending remains the best part of their game and they have proved it on a consistent basis this season.

"Our defensive organisation is normally the best part of our game", said the Manchester United boss.

"We've proved that more than ever this season."

Van Gaal will be hoping that the defence continues to hold strong, but will want more from his forwards when Manchester United take on Leicester tomorrow at the King Power Stadium.
