Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno has emerged as a target for Spanish giants Real Madrid for next summer.

The former Sevilla man struggled to cement his place at Liverpool under former boss Brendan Rodgers, but has been a regular in the team under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, who arrived at the club last month.

His recent impressive performances have pleased the German and the Liverpool faithful, but have also brought the attention of Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are keen to sign a full-back next summer.

According to Madrid-based daily Marca, the Spaniard is one of the full-backs who are being closely watched by the club with an eye on going forward with a transfer at the end of the season.

Rafael Benitez torpedoed the club hierarchy’s suggestion to strengthen the left side of their defence last summer, but Marcelo’s recent injury showed that the squad are lacking in left sided full-backs.

Real Madrid are intent on strengthening their left-back options and are looking at a number of players across Europe, including Moreno.

Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez, Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti and Ludogorets’ Natanael are also being looked at as options by Real Madrid.

Moreno joined Liverpool from Sevilla in 2014 and has a contract until 2019 with the club.
