Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits that he is not sure how many of his players picked up knocks against PSV Eindhoven in midweek.

Van Gaal’s men are second in the league table and have the chance to go top tomorrow when they take on league leaders Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

However, ahead of the top-of-the-table clash the Manchester United boss is still not sure which of his players will take the trip to Leicester tomorrow as he admits that he in unaware how many of them are carrying knocks from the PSV game on Wednesday.

When asked which of the players picked up injuries against the Dutch champions, Van Gaal told MUTV: “It’s too early to say something about that but it was a very intense game.

"I cannot say too much about that."

Ander Herrera and Phil Jones, who picked up injuries at Watford last weekend, have been ruled out of tomorrow’s game but the Dutchman admits that he is not sure how long they will take to recover from their respective injuries.

"I cannot say that also because these kinds of injuries you cannot predict. I don’t think it is weeks, but I think within two weeks one of the two can come back.

“But I don’t know, you can never predict that, because injuries are unpredictable."

Despite the problems, Van Gaal expects his side to respond to their disappointing midweek result with a win at Leicester tomorrow to go top of the Premier League table.
