Mauricio Pochettino is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will be in good shape to face Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

A Harry Kane goal helped Spurs to get all three points at Qarabag last night and they secured a spot in the Europa League last 32 with a game to spare in the group stage.

Pochettino played a strong Tottenham team last night and the squad are expected to be jaded by the time they return to England from Azerbaijan in the early hours of this morning.

The Tottenham boss lamented earlier this week that he will have little time to prepare his side for Chelsea’s visit to White Hart Lane on Sunday, but sounded confident after last night’s game.

He admits that they have a big job at hand to help his players recover from their trip to Qarabag, but is confident that they will be prepared to compete against the English champions on Sunday.

Pochettino said on BT Sport: “Our medical staff and the sport science department need to put up a big show to make sure that we recover and are ready to compete on Sunday morning.

“But we have a strong mentality and we are sure we are going to arrive on Sunday in very good condition to try to win the game against Chelsea.”

Tottenham are unbeaten in the league since their opening day defeat at Manchester United and will be looking to pile on the misery on Jose Mourinho’s struggling Chelsea side on Sunday.
