Wagner Ribeiro, who acts as the agent for Santos attacking midfielder Lucas Lima, is set to meet Real Madrid president Florentino Perez next month, according to Spanish daily AS.

Los Blancos are keen to snap up the 25-year-old Brazilian, who has also aroused the interest of several clubs from Italy, England, Portugal and Turkey with his performances for both club and country.

The Spanish giants made initial enquiries on Lima in April, but a deal did not materialise due to the lack of non-European places in their squad. Nevertheless, Real Madrid have not given up hope of signing the Brazil international.

The situation is still unclear, so a January move for the player seems unlikely for Real Madrid, but Lima could move to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer after the club frees up a non-European spot.

Santos, who want €20m for the Brazil international, share a good relationship with Real Madrid, following the successful transfer of Robinho in 2005.

Real Madrid sent scouts to watch the midfielder, whose present deal with Santos runs until 2017, in action during Brazil’s 3-0 win over Peru in a World Cup qualifier earlier this month.
