Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes his former side should not be overly concerned about their lack of goals.

Louis van Gaal’s men have come in for criticism for some of their ponderous displays this season and Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against PSV Eindhoven increased the pressure on the Red Devils.




While they are second in the league and a win today at Leicester will take them to the top of the table, concerns around Manchester United’s goalscoring prowess are refusing to go away.

However, Solskjaer has defended his former side and stressed that it is not possible for any side to score a flurry of goals every time they are on the pitch. The former striker admires Manchester United’s defensive solidity and pointed out that winning 1-0 is not a new phenomenon at Old Trafford.
 


When asked whether Manchester United’s lack of goals is a concern, the former Red Devil was quoted as saying by VG Sporten: “No.

“It is not possible to win every game 4-0 or 5-0.

“They have been very solid defensively and have also been known for winning several games with a 1-0 scoreline.

“They should be pleased with the season so far.”

Manchester United have the meanest defensive record in the league this season and have kept 12 clean sheets in all competitions.
