Former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Jamie Vardy is a handful for any centre half in his current form.

The Leicester City forward has been in scintillating form in the league this season and could break former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in ten consecutive games in the Premier League today against the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium.

Vardy’s energetic runs and goals have played a major role in Leicester City occupying the Premier League summit at the moment and the England international has been hailed for making a name for himself, despite his humble beginnings in lower league football.

Another Manchester United legend in the form of Solskjaer has been impressed with Vardy’s rise this season and believes no central defender in the world would be looking forward to facing the striker because of his pace.

The former Red Devil was quoted as saying by Norwegian outlet VG Sporten: “I have been impressed with him.

“I don’t think any central defender would be looking forward to playing against him, because he would know that he would have to run towards his goal a number of times during a match.”

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United’s impressive defence manages to keep Vardy out today and preserve their former hero’s Premier League record.
