Former Liverpool midfielder Ray Houghton has outlined Jefferson Montero as Swansea City’s danger man against Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow.

The Swans are not having the best of seasons and there has been speculation that Garry Monk is fighting to save his job at the Liberty Stadium because of a run of poor results.

With just three wins from their opening 13 league games, the Welsh side are under pressure coming into tomorrow’s clash against Liverpool and last season’s 4-1 hiding at the same venue is not expected to fill the Swansea fans with much hope.

However, former Reds midfielder Houghton feels Liverpool should not expect to walk over Swansea as the visitors are playing to save Monk from the axe and some of the players are fighting for their futures at the club.

The former Red said on LFC TV: “You know it is not going to be easy on Sunday.

“Certainly with the way things have been going, the players are fighting for Garry Monk and are fighting for their own careers as well.”

The former Liverpool midfielder identified Swansea winger Montero as their main man and believes the home side should be wary of the player as he can create moments of magic out of nothing.

“This lad [Montero] can play; he is exceptional when in possession of the ball and Liverpool will have to be wary of him.”

Liverpool are coming into the game on the back of a 4-1 win over Manchester City last weekend and are confident of beating Swansea, who have won just once on the road this term.
