Bastian Schweinsteiger admits that Manchester United are unhappy at having drawn 1-1 away at Leicester City today, especially as they were well aware of the threat posed by Jamie Vardy.

Manchester United instantly set about dominating possession at the King Power Stadium, but Leicester were a threat on the counter-attack.

And the Foxes went ahead in the 24th minute with man of the moment Vardy scoring to break the Premier League record for scoring in successive matches, scoring on his eleventh consecutive game.

Leicester attacked from a Manchester United corner and he got on the end of a Christian Fuchs ball and then fired at an angle past David de Gea.

But in first half injury time, Manchester United were level. The goal came from a corner kick, Schweinsteiger wriggling free to head into the back of the net for his first Red Devils goal.

Manchester United dominated the ball in the second period, but Leicester stood firm and the Red Devils struggled to create and finish clear-cut changes.

The clock ticked down and it finished 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.

For Schweinsteiger, Manchester United should have stopped Vardy scoring and the German was quoted as saying by the BBC: "We know the runs that Jamie Vardy tries, so that goal means we're not happy.

"It came from our own corner, and our defence wasn't good. It's very disappointing that we conceded that type of goal."

Schweinsteiger admits he was happy to score, but he believes Manchester United must get better.

"The timing of my goal was good, just a minute before half-time. But we are disappointed that we didn't win – we had some chances to score a second.

"But it's not been easy to play against Leicester this season.

"We had to create more with the kind of space we had. We have to improve, definitely."
