Former Leicester City striker Gary Lineker has joked at Manchester United's expense after the Red Devils could only draw 1-1 with the Foxes this evening.

Jamie Vardy put Leicester ahead at the King Power Stadium, taking advantage of a lightening quick counter-attack from a Manchester United corner and a good pass from Christian Fuchs.

The England striker made no mistake and in scoring broke the Premier League record for scoring in consecutive games, having now hit the net in his last eleven.

Manchester United did level through Bastian Schweinsteiger, heading in from a corner on the stroke of half time, but despite dominating possession, the Red Devils had to ultimately settle for a 1-1 draw.

And Lineker took to Twitter to write: "Massive point for Manchester United."

He added: "Hanging on like that against Leicester shows how far they've come under Van Gaal."

Manchester United fans could be heard to chant 'attack, attack, attack' as the match wore on, but Van Gaal's men stayed patient with their possession-based approach.

The result means that Leicester remain above Manchester United, sitting second with the Red Devils third.

Manchester City however are top of the pile on goal difference after their win over Southampton today.
