Dejan Lovren has hailed a "great week" for Liverpool after they defeated Swansea City 1-0 at Anfield to make it three wins in a week.

The Merseyside giants thrashed Manchester City 4-1 last weekend and then followed that up by booking their spot in the last 32 of the Europa League with a 2-1 win over Bordeaux on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp's men then coped with difficult conditions on Sunday, with strong winds blowing around Anfield, to edge out Swansea 1-0.

Liverpool are now sixth in the Premier League and within striking distance of the top four; and Lovren feels that the last week has been superb for the Reds.

He told LFC TV after the win over Swansea: "It was a tough game, especially also we played against the wind and it wasn't so easy.

"But the three points are the most important thing.

"It was a great week for us, a win against Manchester City, a win against Bordeaux and now today.

"We just need to keep working hard and to be patient again", he added.

Liverpool are next in action in midweek in the League Cup when Lovren's former club Southampton provide the opposition.

Klopp will be desperate for his side to continue their winning run, with the Reds' fortunes having been completely turned around since the former Borussia Dortmund coach succeeded Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.
