Leeds United academy boss Paul Hart feels there were several good performances during the club's Under-21s' 2-0 home defeat to Crewe Alexandra at Thorp Arch today.

Hart watched on as the Crewe goalkeeper put in an inspired performance to keep shot after shot at bay, keeping the Whites out and helping the Railwaymen claim a 2-0 victory.

The Leeds youth supremo was not deflated however and believes there were many positives to take from the game, not least good performances from full-back Lewie Coyle, midfielder Ronaldo Vieira and forward Malik Wilks.

Hart told LUTV: "There was a lot of good stuff, people working hard.

"There were good performances, Lewie Coyle, Malik when he came on, Ronaldo; he played 60 minutes on Saturday and he's played 60-70 minutes today for the first time in three months, so that was good", he continued.

"There were some positives."

Leeds did not choose to field any senior players for the game with Crewe, breaking with a recent pattern which has seen first team fringe players handed minutes on the pitch for the Under-21s.

In recent weeks midfield pair Casper Sloth and Tommaso Bianchi, along with striker Souleymane Doukara, have all featured for Hart's side.

But against Crewe there was a youthful flavour to Leeds' side.
