Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has insisted that he is happy at Old Trafford despite the rumours surrounding his future at the club.

The former Athletic Bilbao man is a popular figure amongst the fans and despite a few initial struggles, the midfielder has also managed to become an important member of Louis van Gaal’s squad since his arrival in 2014.

While he struggled to break into the starting eleven earlier in the season, Herrera was more of a regular presence in the last month or so before he picked up a hamstring injury against Watford.

Despite his recent performances in Van Gaal’s team, reports in England earlier today suggested that Herrera is not happy at Manchester United and is set for showdown talks with the Manchester United boss.

The 26-year-old midfielder sought to rubbish the rumours. He cited a recent interview where he said that he is happy at Manchester United and wants a long career at Old Trafford.

Herrera took to Twitter and said: “Interview given last week.

“Very happy at Manchester United.”

The Manchester United fans should feel relieved with the way Herrera proactively rubbished the rumours and will be hoping that he soon recovers from his hamstring injury.
