Diego Lopez’s agent has insisted that his client will not leave AC Milan in the January transfer window despite his recent lack of action.

The former Real Madrid man started the season as the club’s number one shot-stopper but a few poor performances later Sinisa Mihajlovic dropped the Spaniard in favour 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The talented youngster kept his more experienced colleague out of the team before Lopez sustained an injury and the Spaniard been sidelined for a considerable period of time.

And it has been suggested that Donnarumma will continue to guard the sticks even after the 34-year-old returns from his injury, leading to questions regarding his future at the Rossoneri.

There has been a suggestion that Lopez could look to leave AC Milan in January if the current situation continues, but his agent rubbished the speculation.

Manuel Garcia Quilon, the player’s agent, told Italian outlet Calcio Mercato: “I do not think Diego Lopez will leave Milan.

“In January, he is not moving and I do not know where these talks of an imminent farewell are coming from.”

While Donnarumma has gained praise for his performances, Lopez will hope to regain his place in the starting eleven soon and earn back the confidence of AC Milan boss Mihajlovic.
