Juventus are interested in signing Monaco playmaker Joao Moutinho, who wants to leave his current club, it has been claimed.

The Portuguese international joined Monaco from FC Porto in 2013, and has thus far managed 103 appearances in all competitions for his present employers, scoring six times.

But with the French club having been struggling since last season, Moutinho wants to join a team which can challenge for trophies both domestically and in Europe.

As a result, Serie A champions and last season’s Champions League finalists Juventus, who have also been linked with Ever Banega, Ilkay Gundogan and Oscar, are keen to rope in the 29-year-old in January, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

Moutinho, whose present deal with Monaco runs until 2018, started his career at Sporting Lisbon before moving to their rivals Porto in 2010.
