Nathan Oduwa, on loan at Rangers from Tottenham Hotspur, concedes that his form has dipped of late at Ibrox, but believes his first goal for the club last night is the start of his fightback with the Gers.

Oduwa scored the Gers’ third goal in a scintillating second half performance, which helped Mark Warburton side beat Dumbarton 4-0 last night in the Scottish Championship.

After a drab first-half, Warburton’s men sprang to life in the second half and Jason Holt opened the scoring within two minutes of the restart.

Martyn Waghorn and Andy Halliday also got on the scoresheet as Rangers moved three points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship ahead of second placed Hibernian.

Oduwa came on as a 77th minute substitute for goalscorer Waghorn and scored within the next five minutes as he guided a Lee Wallace cross from the left wing past Dumbarton goalkeeper Mark Brown.

Oduwa took to Twitter to express his delight at scoring his first goal for the Ibrox outfit.

He wrote: “Although I've had a recent dip in form, it's nice to finally get on the score sheet.”

The 19-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Gers since joining the club on loan from Tottenham in the summer.
