Rangers assistant manager David Weir insists that his team do not worry about what the other sides think or do and explained that the Gers are only focused on their own game.

Mark Warburton’s side currently sit at the top of the Scottish Championship, three points ahead of second placed Hibernian, with 40 points under their belt.

Fourth placed Morton travel to Ibrox for the first time in 10 years on Saturday and the Gers will be looking to maintain their winning momentum.

The Glasgow outfit have scored 13 goals in their last four outings and look good to add a couple more to their already impressive tally over the weekend.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website, Weir said: “I don’t think we really care too much about anyone else because we try and focus on ourselves and the things we can control.

“A lot of other teams speak about us and think about us but we would rather concentrate on what we’re doing.”

Last weekend’s encounter against Raith Rovers was postponed due to Storm Desmond, which rendered the pitch unfit to play on. However, Weir believes the extra rest afforded to his players will come in handy.

“The team are raring to go now and they have shown that they’ve felt the benefit of getting a bit of a rest over the weekend.

“We understand the importance of this game and every game and we’re really looking forward to it.”

However, Jim Duffy’s side are no pushovers and have lost only one of their last seven fixtures.
