Lazio are eyeing a move for Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma in January, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

The centre-back, whose present deal with the Blues runs until 2019, could join the Italian outfit on a loan deal during the winter transfer window.

Zouma’s future at Chelsea is in doubt, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, who signed the 21-year-old from Saint-Etienne in January 2014.

The youngster spent the rest of the 2013/14 campaign on loan with the French team before returning to Chelsea at the start of the 2014/15 season.

Zouma has featured heavily for the Premier League champions in the current campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice.

He is a product of Saint-Etienne’s youth set-up and made his first team debut for the club in 2011.
