Leeds United head coach Steve Evans admits he was impressed with Casper Sloth's performance for the Under-21s earlier this week.

Sloth has found breaking into the first team tough this season and has been linked with leaving the club on loan in the winter transfer window.

The Danish midfielder has as a result enjoyed the majority of his game time with the club's Under-21s and was again in action on Monday in a 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Thorp Arch.

Evans was pleased with Sloth's performance and hinted it is the best he has seen him since he took charge.

"For the first time Casper Sloth looked like he was a player and he controlled a lot of the good things that we did", Evans told a press conference.

Sloth may be handed an opportunity to feature for the first team over the busy festive period as games come thick and fast for the Whites.

Leeds line up against Nottingham Forest on Sunday and then host Derby County on Tuesday.

Evans' men then welcome in 2016 by hosting MK Dons at Elland Road the following Saturday.
