Former Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf has revealed he hates ex-team-mate Jamie Carragher, while he has also taken a swipe at Reds legend Steven Gerrard, dubbing him "selfish".

Diouf joined Liverpool in the summer of 2002 from French club Lens, following a successful World Cup campaign with Senegal, and much was expected of him at Anfield.

But the forward, who disappointed in his stint with the Reds and has drawn controversy in his career, struggled to see eye-to-eye with a number of players.

And the 34-year-old has revealed that he hates Carragher, admitting the former defender is someone he would never spend Christmas with.

Asked by So Foot who he would never spend Christmas with, Diouf shot back: "Jamie Carragher. I hate him."

Diouf was then asked to imagine he is Father Christmas and asked if he has a compliment and present for Gerrard.

And the Senegalese lashed out at the Reds legend, dubbing him "selfish" and claiming that Gerrard always put his personal glory ahead of Liverpool.

"A very big and selfish player", Diouf said.

"He doesn't care whether Liverpool win, all that counted was that he'd score. I'd offer him the chance to come to Senegal, so that he can see how much I am king in my house."

Diouf largely failed to impress at Liverpool and left the club on a permanent basis in 2005 to sign for Bolton Wanderers.
