Mauricio Pochettino has urged Tottenham Hotspur not to rest on their laurels, despite his side being in a good position in the Premier League.

Spurs, who are up against Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow, are currently fourth in the standings with 35 points from 19 games, just seven adrift of leaders and their fierce north London rivals Arsenal, but having a game in hand.

The White Hart Lane outfit have lost just two Premier League games in the present campaign, the joint lowest in the division with second-placed Leicester City.

And Pochettino, whose side have won their last three league outings, underlined the importance of Tottenham maintaining or improving their level of performances in order to finish the season in a good position.

“Yes, we are very happy [with where we are presently], but we can always improve”, the Argentine explained to Spurs TV.

“It’s is our philosophy that we can always improve and learn. It’s true that after 19 games, we are in a very good position.

“It’s up to us now to follow in the same direction and this is where our challenge lies, to keep the same level of performance or improve, and try to finish the league in a very good position.”

Tottenham, who played out a goalless draw with Everton in the corresponding fixture at White Hart Lane in August, have lost only to Manchester United and Newcastle United in the league this season.
