Former Borussia Dortmund star Kevin Grosskreutz, who has been linked with Liverpool, is poised to sign for Bundesliga strugglers Stuttgart.

Grosskreutz left Dortmund to sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray in the summer, but due to a breach in transfer rules he has been unable to play for the Istanbul outfit.

And the German, having complained of feeling homesick, is cutting short his time in Turkey to return to his homeland with Stuttgart.

According to German daily WAZ, Grosskreutz is having a medical with Stuttgart ahead of a move which will cost the Bundesliga side around €2.6m.

The versatile performer's move to Stuttgart will end talk of him heading to link up with his former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
