Galatasaray are interested in signing Chelsea striker Loic Remy on loan during the January transfer window.

Remy has struggled to feature regularly for the Blues since arriving at the club from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, and injuries have also not helped his cause at Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

Premier League strugglers Aston Villa have made it clear that Remy is a target for them in January and it seems they could face stiff competition from Turkish giants Galatasaray, who have woken up to the possibility of signing the Frenchman.

They are planning to sign a forward in January and according to Turkish daily Sabah, Galatasaray are seriously considering the option of signing Remy from Chelsea in January.

It has been suggested that they are initially keen to sign him on loan, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer and are planning a trip to England in the next few days to set the wheels in motion.

Newcastle United’s Papiss Cisse and former Besiktas striker Demba Ba are also said to be on Galatasaray’s radar in January, but Remy is believed to be their number one target.

The forward may be keen to leave Chelsea in January in order to play regular football, which could boost his chances of being in the France squad for next summer’s European Championship.
