Chelsea have confirmed that defender Wallace has joined Gremio on a loan deal until June 2017.

The 21-year-old joined Carpi on a season-long loan deal in the summer, but the Brazilian failed to make his mark in Italy.

Wallace made just seven appearances in all competitions for Carpi before both teams reportedly reached an agreement over cancelling his loan contract.

The right-back, whose present contract with Chelsea runs until 2017, has now returned to his native land to resurrect his fledging football career.

Wallace joined the Blues from Fluminense, but the defender is yet to play a competitive game for the London outfit.
