Newly appointed Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed that star player Cristiano Ronaldo is the soul of his team and is "more than untransferable".

The Portuguese international is a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu, but has time and again been linked with a move away from the club.

The player himself has done little to deny the speculation, insisting that he cannot be 100 per cent sure about his future at the club and might even think of a move at some point.

Zidane, who held his first pre-match press conference as Los Blancos manager earlier today, though insists that Ronaldo is an integral part of Real Madrid's future and won't be made available as long as he is in charge.

“Cristiano is more than untransferable, he's the soul of this Madrid team. As long as I'm here he won't be going anywhere”, the former Real Madrid reserve team boss said.

Speaking about his plans to use Ronaldo the Frenchman added: “Cristiano will be on the wing and will play whatever happens.

"I'm not going to give him many instructions, his record speaks for itself. The only thing I want is for him to feel happy and at ease."

Zidane also took time to speak about his team's transfer plans during January, insisting that there will be no possible departures or additions to the team.

“I don’t think there’ll be any departures and I don't want there to be any either. The same goes for signings; I have a big squad and am satisfied with the players I have”.
