Crystal Palace are poised to make a move for Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel during the January transfer window.

Alan Pardew is keen to bring in a new striker to Selhurst Park this month and is considering making a move for a number of options in the transfer market to add more teeth to his attack.

According to Sky Italia, the latest striker to appear on Palace’s radar is Sassuolo’s Defrel and representatives of the club are expected to be at the San Siro to watch the Frenchman in action tomorrow against Inter Milan.

An initial approach has been made by Crystal Palace to sign the 24-year-old and it has been suggested that they are ready to offer around €15m to take Defrel to London during the January transfer window.

A product of Parma’s academy, the French forward joined Sassuolo from AC Cesena last summer and has scored two goals in 16 appearances this season for the club.

The 24-year-old has also played for Foggia in Italy, and has a contract until 2020 with his current club.

It will not be the first time that Palace have tried to sign a Serie A forward during the winter window, but will be hoping that luck favours them this time, as they look to strengthen their attacking reserves this month.
