Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has revealed that he enjoyed linking up with Carlton Cole against Stranraer in the Scottish Cup on Sunday and admits that the former West Ham man adds something different to the team.

The Celtic front two of Griffiths and Cole found themselves on the scoresheet as Ronny Deila’s men booked their place in the last eight of the Scottish FA Cup on Sunday.

The Scotland international admits that he enjoyed linking up with the former Hammer, who he feels adds something different to the team with his physique, which adds a different dimension to their game.

Griffiths also has no problems with Deila tweaking around with the Celtic forward line as long as he can manage to remain in the starting eleven.

"The big man has attributes that I don’t have", said the Scotland international told the club’s official website.

"He can hold the ball up well and I feel we linked together well, but it’s entirely up to the manager if he wants to continue playing two up front or stick to one.

“So long as I’m in the starting eleven, I don’t mind.”

Celtic signed the former West Ham and Chelsea strike Cole in October last year on a free transfer, following a successful trial period at the club.
