Liverpool are continuing to work on signing Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro during the January transfer window, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The Reds have been keeping a watch on the 22-year-old defender for the last few months, with an eye towards making a play for the full-back sometime in the future.

But it seems the Reds have made their move as it has been suggested that Jurgen Klopp is working on securing a deal that will see the Portuguese move to Anfield during the winter window.

A spate of defensive injuries has forced the Liverpool boss to look into the market for solutions, and Guerreiro may be the player who is going to join the Reds to provide cover for the left-back position.

Despite being a left-back, Guerreiro is equally adept at playing left-wing and might provide Klopp with another attacking outlet.
