Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has saluted Lazar Markovic, on loan from Liverpool, who provided him with a superb assist in a 6-1 win for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old striker was on target, as his side beat Giresunspor 6-1 in a cup match, netting a brace by striking in the 59th and 82nd minutes. 




It was a delightful finish from the former Arsenal and Manchester United man as he beat the goalkeeper through amazing dribbling skills.

Van Persie on his part, took to Twitter to express his delight at having managed to score the goal, insisting that it would be lovely to get more of those.
 


The Dutchman did not forget to mention the man from Liverpool, who provided him with a delightful through ball, thus setting up the goal.

Van Persie in fact has managed to score six goals in 16 Turkish Super Lig matches with the player having also provided his team-mates with yet another assist.

Van Persie's side are currently placed second in the Turkish league table. trailing league leaders Besiktas by just one point.
