Inter Milan defender and Liverpool target Andrea Ranocchia could move to Sampdoria during the current transfer window.

The former Inter captain has been a fringe player for the Nerazzurri this season and he is believed to be keen to leave the club for more opportunities during the second half of the season.

He rejected a chance to join Norwich City a few weeks ago and even Liverpool reportedly tabled a bid to sign the defender this month, but it seems Ranocchia could be staying in Italy.

According to Sky Italia, the defender could be moving to Sampdoria during the transfer window and negotiations between both clubs are expected to reach a decisive phase next week.

It has been suggested that Ranocchia is keener to stay in Italy than move to a new country to play more football and rekindle his career.
