Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has revealed that he won't play for any other European club in his life and will look to either retire at the Catalan giants or go back to Argentina.

The star striker has been linked with a number of European clubs of late including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.




Reports had in fact emerged last January that the 28-year-old had fallen out with his manager Luis Enrique and would be looking to leave the club soon.

Messi though has stayed put, insisting that his heart has always been with his childhood club and he won't ever be able to play for any other European club in his life.
 


The forward though didn't negate the possibility of going back to his country to finish off his career there in case the opportunity arose.

"I'd never play for another European club. Barcelona is my home and I want to retire here", Messi was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca.

"However, it's possible I could end my career in Argentina.

"Anything could happen in the future, but I want to stay here."

The 2015 Ballon d'Or award winner, has managed a total of 431 goals for the Catalan giants in 505 appearances and has additionally provided his team-mates with 197 assists.
