Mauro Zarate's move from West Ham United to Fiorentina is done and dusted, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, with the Argentine due for a medical today ahead of a €2.1m move.

Fiorentina have been in talks to take Zarate to Italy this month as they look to bolster their attacking options for the second half of the campaign in Serie A.

Zarate, who has slipped down the pecking order at Upton Park, is keen on the move.

It was claimed last night that the deal is all but done and Fiorentina are simply deciding whether to sign Zarate permanently now, or on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy.

Now it appears the move is done and Zarate will be continuing his career with La Viola as the Italian side have opted to sign him permanently for €2.1m, handing the forward a two-and-a-half-year contract.
