West Ham forward Mauro Zarate’s brother has revealed that the Argentine wants to leave the club and join Fiorentina.

The 28-year-old striker has been playing regularly for the Hammers this season and while he is not a certain starter, he has been an important part of the squad.

However, he hasn’t played in the new year for the club and it seems that he is on his way out as Fiorentina are reportedly close to securing the West Ham forward’s signature this month.

And his brother Sergio Zarate, who is also his agent, revealed that he is in London to negotiate with the Hammers regarding the striker’s move to Fiorentina during the January transfer window.

He insisted that his brother has no complaints towards West Ham regarding his playing time, but wants to move to Fiorentina because their style of football is more suited to his qualities.

Sergio told Radio Bruno about the deal with Fiorentina, explaining: “I am in London to close the deal; we are trying to reach an agreement with West Ham.

“Fiorentina are a very competitive team, which always play good and attacking football.

“Mauro could be the right choice for them as he is an attacking player.

“He is often playing and the club would like the keep him, but Mauro wants [a move to] Fiorentina.”

The 28-year-old has scored seven goals in 29 appearances for West Ham and has previous experience of playing in Serie A with Lazio and Inter.
