Leicester City are interested in signing Chelsea striker Loic Remy, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The France international has been a fringe player at Stamford Bridge since joining the Blues from Queens Park Rangers in 2014.

But Remy has been linked with wanting to secure a move away from Chelsea in search of more first team action as he is keen to find a berth in the France squad for Euro 2016.

Galatasaray, Aston Villa and Lille have all been mooted as being keen on snapping up the 29-year-old on a loan deal in the January transfer window, with Leicester City being the latest club to join the race for the signature of the forward.

Remy, whose present contract with Chelsea runs until 2018, has clocked up 500 minutes over 16 appearances in all competitions for the west London outfit in the present campaign, scoring three times and providing an assist.

While Leicester City are currently atop the league table with 47 points from 23 games, Premier League champions Chelsea find themselves in 13th spot with 28 points.

Remy, who also has 31 caps and seven goals for France to his name, would have to fight with the league’s top goalscorer Jamie Vardy for a place in the team if he indeed secures a move to the King Power Stadium this month.
