Alexandre Pato’s imminent loan move to Chelsea could force Loic Remy to leave the club this month, according to France Football.

Corinthians deputy director Eduardo Ferreira has insisted that the Brazil international is close to securing a loan move to the Blues, which could well speed up Remy’s fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Remy, who has been a fringe player at Chelsea since joining the club from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, has been linked with wanting to secure a move away from the west London outfit in search of more first team action as he is keen to find a berth in the France squad for Euro 2016.

Lille, Galatasaray, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Leicester City have all been mooted as being keen on snapping the forward up on a loan deal during the January transfer window, with the Foxes even offering €10m to sign him permanently, it is claimed.

However, the 29-year-old is reportedly most interested in moving to either his former club Newcastle, or heading back to his homeland with Lille.
