Norwich City are interested in signing Inter Milan full-back Davide Santon during the January transfer window, according to Sky Italia.

The Canaries lost to Liverpool last weekend despite scoring four goals and the club are keen to shore up their defence as they look to ensure survival in the Premier League in the second half of the campaign.

And it has been suggested that they are plotting a move for Inter full-back Santon, who is a familiar face to English audiences because of his stint in the north east with Newcastle United.

Santon returned to the Nerazzurri on a permanent contract last summer, but after a steady start to the season he lost his place in the starting eleven and has not played in Serie A since the end of October.

Norwich are keen to take him back to England and believe that the Italian’s experience of playing in the Premier League could prove valuable for the rest of the season at Carrow Road.
