Leicester City have placed a bid for 21-year-old AC Milan striker M'Baye Niang, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.

A highly regarded young French forward, Niang joined the Rossoneri from SM Caen in 2012 and has been a regular in the first team this season since returning from a lengthy injury layoff.

He has scored just twice in Serie A this term, but has been prolific for AC Milan in the Italian Cup with three goals to his name in four appearances.

Leicester City are interested in taking the forward to England this month and have made a decisive move by slapping in a bid for Niang for AC Milan’s consideration.

It has been suggested that their offer is around the €16m mark and it has also been claimed that the Rossoneri are thinking about accepting the bid for the 21-year-old hitman.
