Norwegian wonderkid Kristoffer Ajer is in no rush to leave Start if a proposed move to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic does not materialise in the ongoing transfer window.

The 17-year-old was on trial with the Bhoys earlier this month, and while talks have been mooted between the two clubs, a deal is yet to be finalised.

The Tippeligaen outfit are ready to cash in on their prized asset, although not to another Norwegian club, but the 6ft 5in midfielder is in no rush to leave his boyhood club.

However, an opportunity to play for the Scottish giants has been termed a fantastic chance by the 17-year-old, and the Norwegian is reluctant to let the chance slip away.

But with the transfer window nearing to a close Ajer’s future hangs in the balance.

The 17-year-old claims to have little knowledge of the progress of his proposed move and feels that time is running out for him to complete a move to the Bhoys. However, he insists he will not be disheartened if he remains with Start.

“They are talking, and I have actually received very little information", Ajer was quoted as saying by Norwegian daily Faedrelandsvennen.

"The window closes soon, and if it is going to happen, it must happen quickly.

"It would be fantastic to get such a chance [at Celtic].

"They are a top team that want me, so it had obviously been fun.

"But I won't rush things. Start is a great club to be at too, so I'll see what happens"

The 17-year-old was absent from the starting line-up for his side’s friendly against Bodo last night.
