Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon feels Leeds United are a “tough nut to crack” under Steve Evans, ahead of his side’s FA Cup meeting with the Whites today.

Evans has done a decent job since taking charge of Leeds in October, with the Yorkshire giants currently finding themselves in 14th place in the Championship with 36 points from 29 games, 10 adrift of sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

In addition, Leeds have also managed to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Rotherham United under the Scot’s stewardship.

And Lennon, who is expecting a tough encounter at the Macron Stadium later in the day, admitted that Evans’ Leeds are a tough team to beat.

“Steve has gone in and steadied the ship, they are a tough nut to crack”, he said at yesterday’s pre-match press conference.

“They are a difficult team to beat and I’m sure that he will have them well motivated and they will be buoyed by a big away following.

“So it should be a blood and thunder Lancashire-Yorkshire tie.”

Bolton, who are currently rock-bottom in the Championship with just 20 points from 28 games, held Leeds to a 1-1 draw at the Macron Stadium earlier in the season, with the Whites needing a late penalty to come out with a point.
