Lille are still retaining slim hopes of signing out-of-favour Chelsea striker Loic Remy in the last few hours of the transfer window.

Remy is looking to secure regular first team football in the second half of the season ahead of next summer’s European Championship and has been linked with a move to a number of clubs, including in Ligue 1.

Despite interest from this homeland, the striker is reportedly close to joining Premier League leaders Leicester City on loan, but Lille are not giving up hope.

Lille are one of the Ligue 1 clubs who are keen to take the Frenchman back to France and according to French sports daily L’Equipe they still retain hope of signing the player towards the last few hours of the window.

With the transfer window closing tomorrow night, Lille are in a race against time to sign the forward from Chelsea, but the club are still keen to get the deal over the line.
