Lille are still thinking about signing Newcastle United forward Emmanuel Riviere in the last few hours of the January window.

The Frenchman joined the Magpies from Monaco in 2014, but a serious knee injury kept him out of action for months and he just returned to action in a two-minute cameo against Watford last weekend.

It emerged earlier this month that Lille were considering making an offer for the forward during the January transfer window, and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, they are still on the Newcastle man’s trail.

With Newcastle looking to sign more forwards in the last few hours of the window, the Frenchman is not expected to play much first team football in the second half of the season and he could look at the option of moving back to his homeland.

Bastia were also interested in acquiring his services, but it seems Lille are the only ones who are seriously considering signing the former Monaco man in the last hours of the winter window.
